Fjord... did not know the first thing about Astrid, no. He knew due to the address he'd been given that Astrid was a student, and going by the name she was maybe a girl, but anything beyond that?
Hell. He had nothin'. What did kids like these days? What were people most likely to need? There had been a moment taken to bribe the squirrels into giving him some pointers, but the most that he could get them to cough up was something about tattoos, and there wasn't a hell of a lot he could do about that.
So he'd gone the safe route, he'd purchased a scarf, since it was colder than anything out there this week.
... And then he'd panicked and gone the other direction, too. So the scarf was wrapped around a sturdy pair of leather wrist cuffs from the same supplier that had made Fenris' boots for him.
And then he'd panicked further when he realized he couldn't get into the dorms to deliver it, so he'd bribed some gremlins to do the task for him, and they'd been all too eager to please the very large, weirdly polite possibly-a-gremlin, just so long as he agreed to buy them donuts and sardines for the rest of the month. They'd been angling for a clear-through-January deal, but Fjord could be pretty damn persuasive when he had a mind to. So that was what was going to be sitting, waiting on her bed for her when she got back. Some cuffs, wrapped in a scarf, with a tag with her name attached.
